Being able to know when someone under your care has left their room is incredibly important in helping to deal with wandering – the Care Call Magnetic Door Monitor is a great sensor to base your Care Call Pager Kit around.
If you’re unsure that the Magnetic Door Monitor is right for your needs, head back and find your perfect Care Call Pager sensor. Or you can go back to the start of our guide and choose your perfect Care Call receiver.
Step Four: Choosing Additional Sensors
Now that you know you want to centre your Care Call Pager Kit around the Magnetic Door Monitor, it’s time to choose which additional sensors you’d like to use. If you’re just after a standalone Care Call Magnetic Door Monitor Pager Kit, this is the one for you:
The two components of the door monitor – the magnet and the sensor – mount on the door and the door frame. When the door is opened, the magnet moves away from the sensor, which causes it to alert the pager that the door has been opened. This makes it incredibly versatile in its use – it can even be used on windows or cupboards.
Alternatively, you can also get the Care Call Magnetic Door Sensor Pager Kit with a Smoke Alarm:
The Care Call Smoke Alarm will detect smoke and alert the pager, meaning you can be made aware of the presence of smoke wherever you are in the home. There are two types of Care Call Smoke Alarm available: Ionisation and Optical.
Ionisation smoke alarms use radiation to detect smoke, making it incredibly sensitive. These smoke alarms are best suited to use on floors without kitchens, so that they can give an early warning without the false alarms that everyday kitchen smoke can cause. Optical smoke alarms use light to detect smoke, and aren’t as sensitive as Ionisation alarms. This makes them great for floors with kitchens – they’re triggered by larger levels of smoke which are abnormal even for kitchens.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm
You can also get the Care Call Magnetic Door Monitor Pager Kit with a Carbon Monoxide Alarm:
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless and odourless gas which can harm living things easily, so it’s vital that you are aware if it is an issue as soon as possible. The Care Call Carbon Monoxide Alarm constantly monitors the levels of CO in the air and will alert the pager if the levels become dangerous. This enables you to act on CO before it becomes a serious issue.
Key Fob Transmitter
Or, you can get the Care Call Magnetic Door Monitor Pager Kit with a Key Fob Transmitter:
The Care Call Key Fob Transmitter enables those under your care to alert you if they need help. This is fantastic for alerting you to any emergency that may have happened, as well as making it easier for them to ask for your help when they need it. The key fob is also available with a shock sensor, which will detect falls and alert the pager if it does, so you can quickly come to their aid.
