How Does the Medpage Kit Work?
This kit includes two pressure mats and a pager. The chair pressure mat is designed to be placed under the chair cushion, while the bed pressure mat is designed to be placed under the mattress.
If the patient gets up from either the bed or chair mat, this will send a signal to the pager, which will then provide you with an alert. This way, you can assist them with going to the bathroom or another room, or guide them back to their seat before they fall. This is particularly useful if you look after patients with dementia or similar conditions.
How Does the Pager Provide An Alert?
You can set the pager to alert you with an audible tone and vibration, or by vibration only. While the adjustable volume of the audio alert is ideal for busy environments during the daytime, the ability to set the pager to vibration-only mode means that you can patrol a residential home at night without risking waking up other patients with a loud alert.
The LCD display screen on the front of the pager will indicate which mat has triggered the alert. This means you can quickly and easily tend to the patient or your loved one. The alarm controller also flashes to alert you of which mat has set off the alarm, as well as indicating low batteries or signal loss.
