SSD Anti-Tamper Bed/Chair Exit Alarm

There is always the danger with a vulnerable person they will try to move without the assistance they require. Without the right support, falls are far more likely. With falls comes injuries and complications; a reputation that no care home wishes.

With the SDD Anti-Tamper Bed/Chair Exit Alarm, the carer will be notified when the pressure on the pad is released. They can then get to the person before they have taken a step, preventing the fall and subsequent accidents from occurring.

Features of the SDD Anti-Tamper Bed/Chair Exit Alarm

The fall prevention alarm is designed to alert a carer when a patient attempts to stand on their own. The mat is positioned on either the bed or chair and when the pressure is released, an alarm is sounded. This can either be a stand alone system with an audible alarm when the weight moves, or can be integrated into a nurse-call system or have the alarm sent to a pager. If this is the case, then the alarm will be silent.

To help prevent the risk of false alarms, there can be the option of a two-second delay. This allows a shift of weight without sounding the alarm. There is also a suspend alarm option operated through the remote control to allow the carer to help the patient adjust position or change the sheets without the alarm being sounded in the process.

The mat has different settings depending on the use. Either the pressure being relieved sounds the alarm or an Easy Clean Pull Cord alerts the staff if the patient moves away from the controller - for example, if they try to stand up unsupervised. The cord is supplied with the kit.

The alarm can only be cancelled through the use of either the reset key or the remote control. This prevents patients from turning off the alarm themselves and still being placed at risk of a fall.

The mat is battery powered by 4 x AA batteries (included) but can be powered from the mains (adaptor not included). Powered by batteries enables the mat to be used wherever required, whether that is on a stationary chair or out and about in a wheelchair. A wall bracket and a chair/bed mounting bracket are also provided for the control unit.

There are different mats for whether you require it to be used for the bed or for a chair. The standard kit comes with a bed sensor mat.
