Most alarms will alert a carer once a patient has left their bed. For those who are not allowed or at high risk from falls, this warning comes too late. Falls, injuries and a patient wandering off can all be outcomes if a nurse cannot get there in time.
With the SafeFloor Door Exit Monitor with Sensor Mat, your mind is set at ease. The sensor mat reacts as soon as the feet touch it rather than the transfer of weight, sounding an alarm and alerting the carer to the situation.
Features of the safefloor door exit monitor with sensor mat
The SafeFloor Sensor Mat is a thin but highly durable sensor and a monitor device. Measuring at only 2.4mm thick, it is the thinnest on the market at the moment. Considered to be an early-warning fall prevention system, the monitor reacts the instant a patient's feet touches the sensor rather than waiting until they are fully upright. The warning is given a few seconds earlier than other alarms and gives carers more time before the fall takes place. It is suitable for use either as a bed-leaving or a door-sensor device to prevent wanderings.
The monitor has an adjustable alarm to ensure the volume can be heard outside of the room. A dry-contact output is also available for connection with most nurse call systems and personal emergency phones.
There is a six second delay option available for the carers to press a bypass button if there is no emergency.
The sensor is built to last a number of years due to the unitary laminated structure. Spilled liquids can be wiped up easily and the sensor can be kept clean with household detergents. This high hygiene level helps to improve the durability of the sensor.
