SSD Disabled Toilet Alarm Kit

With the choice of a standard or an advanced kit, the Disabled Toilet Kit meets new regulations and requirements for an alarm kit in any new disabled toilet.

New guidelines and regulations insist on there being an alarm in any new disabled toilet. Without one, a user could easily find themselves in distress and not being able to do anything about it. In turn, this will reflect badly on the establishment and their reputation may suffer because of it.

The SSD Disabled Toilet Alarm Kit is an ideal way of providing a cost effective, compliant system that meets all of the requirements. There is the option between a standard and advanced kit.

Features of the Disabled Toilet Alarm Kit

The alarm kit has all the components required to meet the new guidelines. The standard kit is made up from two different components: an alarm controller and a ceiling pull switch.

Alarm Unit

The alarm controller is both the power supply and the alarm unit and should be positioned where it will attract staff attention. The alarm features both an LED and an audible alarm to alert staff to when the ceiling pull switch has been activated.

The reset button is designed to cancel the call once it has been dealt with. However, if the unit is positioned remotely from the toilet, this option can be disabled.

The alarm runs off the mains, but has a back up battery integrated into the system and a warning alarm for when the battery is low. The unit also has a `normally open and normally closed` contact set so it can be used with security or paging systems.

Ceiling Pull Switch

The switch is located in the toilet itself and is ideally positioned above the toilet. The easy to use "G" loop is attached to a 3 meter cord - although this can be adjusted to suit the height of the ceiling. An LED light comes on when the loop has been pulled to reassure the user that the call has been sent.

The switch is a self contained surface mounting enclosure.

Advanced Kit

As well as the alarm controller and ceiling pull switch, the advanced kit also features an overdoor light and sounder and a reset point.

Overdoor Light/Sounder

Positioned on the outside of the toilet above the door, the unit has two ultra-bright red LEDs and an alarm for alerting when the cord has been pulled.

A 25mm deep single gang flush box or "round cornered" plastic surface box is required.

Reset Point

Ideal for when the alarm unit is positioned away from the toilet, the unit allows the alarm to be reset from within the toilet rather than at the alarm unit. The best position is on the wall inside of the toilet and it has an integral re-assurance LED light.

The unit also requires a 25mm deep single gang flush box or "round cornered" plastic surface box.
