You can choose which type of smoke alarm you want to in your bundle – Ionisation or Optical. Ionisation smoke alarms use radiation to detect smoke and are incredibly sensitive. Because of this, they aren’t a great idea on floors with kitchens where small amounts of smoke aren’t an issue, but are spectacular for other floors where smoke is not normal. Conversely, Optical smoke alarms use light to detect smoke and aren’t as sensitive. For this reason they are ideal for use near kitchens where small particles of smoke aren’t an issue but heavy concentrations are. This uses infrared sensors to detect movement, and is ideally suited for use as a bed leaving monitor placed down the side of the bed. The door monitor detects when a door or window is opened and alerts the Signwave. One of the main benefits of this is its versatility. You can use it to alert you when someone leaves their room without aid, helping to reduce falls, and you can also use to alert you when those under your care go into rooms or cupboards they shouldn’t.
